A VPP is earned in the following way; One VPP is awarded for playing in each raked game when the rake reaches:
$0.40 for fixed limit games with stakes $1/$2 and lower
$0.40 for NL/PL games with blinds $1/$2 and lower
$1.00 for PL/NL and limit games with stakes $2/$4 and higher
Two VPPs are awarded for playing in each raked game when the rake reaches $3 or when it reaches $2 in a 6 max game. Players earn 3 VPPs if the rake reaches $5. FPPs are also earned alongside VPPs and can be earned at a faster rate depending on status. FPPs are used for purchase in the store, including the purchase of store bonuses. Choosing to clear this bonus through single and multi-table tournaments:
Five (5) VPPs are awarded for each $1 in tournament fees paid. Percentage of tournament rake refunded when clearing the bonus:

$50 to $4,000 in bonuses can be purchased at the Poker Stars store for Silver and up status players. See chart below for the particular bonuses that are available to you.
Players purchase bonuses with FPPs, which are earned at different rates depending on your status. VPPs are earned alongside FPPs and are the base rate of FPPs.
After purchasing the bonus players must then earn an additional 7 VPPs for each $1 in bonus to withdraw. VPPs must be earned within 90 days. Bonus releases in a lump sum.
When accounting for both the VPPs needed to purchase the bonus and the VPPs to clear the bonus, players must effectively earn 20-74 VPPs for each $1 in bonus money
The clear rates represented below assume that you are already in the status and are starting over in your pursuit of a bonus (all other points have been spent). If you are in the Bronze status, which has no bonuses to purchase, or in a status that is lower than the bonus you are eligible for clear rates will be higher since the rate of FPPs earned varies by status.
Players will be able to use FPPs that they used to clear a sign-up or reload bonus to purchase bonuses so this will improve effective clearance rates.

Chart Explained: Players are eligible for the bonus available in their status and any bonuses for lower statuses. The second column is the FPPs required to purchase the bonus. Because FPPs are earned at different rates depending on status, VPPs are listed alongside FPPs in this column. For example, to purchase the $50 bonus, SilverStar players will need to exchange 5,000 FPPs. SilverStar status players earn 1.5 FPPs for each 1 VPP earned so the amount of VPPs needed to earn the 5000 FPPs is 3333 (5000/1.5).
After the bonus is earned players will need to earn an additional 7 VPPs for each $1 in bonus. So for the $50 bonus, players would need to earn 350 VPPs (50*7). To figure the total number of VPPs the effective number of VPPs needed to be added to the VPPs required after the purchase of the bonus. Because 3,333 were needed to purchase the bonus and another 350 were required to "clear" the bonus, players need to earn 3,683 points while in the Silver status, yielding a 74x clear rate (3683/50).
If players were to move up in statuses midway through their pursuit of the bonus they wished to purchase, the clearance rates would improve because they would now be earning FPPs faster. For simplicity sake, we are just listing the clear rates if you stayed within the same status.
