Poker Ocean Overview
Created in 2006, Poker Ocean is the newest poker room in the iPoker network running on software developed by PlayTech. In spite of losing all of their American customers due to the UIGEA, Poker Ocean has managed to get a very good level of traffic, and at peak hours you can see as many as 24,700 people playing Sit & Gos and 12,600 people playing ring games. Poker Ocean aims for maximum coverage and flexibility, operating in 4 currencies (US and Canadian dollar, Euros and British Pounds) and eight languages (English, French, German, Italian, Polish, Spanish, Swedish and Turkish.) This is probably one of the reasons for its large traffic and fast growth.
Poker Ocean has a reputation for being a fish tank, with plenty of casino players ready to let their chips go, and aggressive promotions designed to bring more in. The PlayTech software is well known in the industry for its stability, playability and excellent graphics.
Even though the iPoker network does not allow U.S. players, poker rooms such as Bet Fred Poker, Prestige Poker and Carlos Poker are recuperating fast due to a high influx of European players.
Poker Ocean Game Features
Poker Ocean offers only the most classic and popular poker versions: Hold'em, Omaha High and Hi-Lo, Seven-Card Stud and 5 Card Stud, in a variety of stakes, table sizes and special options. Cash games start at $0.01/$0.02 and go up to $100/$200 – not the highest stakes, but good enough for fishing. There are also beginner tables with mini-stakes, turbo tables with a shorter decision time and tables with no All-in protection.
Tournaments are one of Poker Ocean’s best features, and they offer something for every taste. Sit & Gos range from 5 to 50 seats, with buy ins from $0.01 to $1000 and plenty of freerolls, as well as jackpot Sit & Gos and many satellites. Scheduled tourneys are also abundant and varied, with buy-ins between $0.05 and $1000 along with many freerolls and loyalty point buy ins. Satellites are hosted regularly to the World Series of Poker, Million Mania, Legends of Poker and more.
Poker Ocean Software Features
Poker Ocean’s software is generally considered to be very good, thanks to its high stability, security and fantastic graphic interface. It has many attractive features, including a mini-view that allows players to view 4 tables at the same time and a real-time hand playback that allows you to review hands as they happened. Other cool features are the full screen options, speech bubbles, and a hand strength meter.
Poker Ocean Support
Besides excellent software, Poker Ocean has fantastic customer support. Players can get help via e-mail support, 24/7 telephone support for U.S. and international calls and a live chat function, which can be accessed after the player is logged into the Poker Ocean software.
