ePassporte, the leading e-wallet for U.S. online poker players since Neteller left the U.S. market in early 2007, has stopped facilitating all online poker transactions.
A statement reportedly sent to online poker sites read ""Although we do not believe we have done anything illegal, we do not wish to be associated with anything that might be considered illegal by the United States Government."
Effective on April 11th, no deposits or withdrawals to or from poker rooms will be allowed using ePassporte. Unlike the Neteller pullout where U.S. players had their money frozen for months, it is not believed at this time that ePassporte users will experience the same. Players should be able to withdrawal their funds from ePassporte as they normally would. If players wish to withdraw money from poker sites which they used ePassporte to fund, they will have to find other means to do so. Most poker sites have alternative methods in place, although U.S. players may experience delays.
