Good Guys Poker Overview
Good Guys Poker is operated by 24hPAY in Malta, and it belongs to the network of identical Entraction sties, although Good Guys have made some efforts to stand out. Good Guys currently does not accept clients from Malta, the United States and Costa Rica, and the site’s official currency is the Euro. They have marketed themselves well in Europe, and traffic is upwards of 5000 players online at any given time.
Even though the Entraction Network does not allow U.S. players, poker rooms such as Good Guys Poker, Sense Poker and Asteria Poker are recuperating fast due to a high influx of European players.
Good Guys Poker Game Features
Good Guys Poker offers a very good variety of poker games: besides the classic Texas Hold’em, Omaha Hi and Hi/Lo, Seven Card Stud Hi and Hi/Lo and Five Card Draw they also offer rare poker versions including Soko, Deuce to Seven Triple Draw, Americana, and Telesina. Ring game stakes for Hold’em and Omaha start at €0.02/0.05 (about $0.03/$0.07) and go up to €750/€1500 (about $1000/$2000). Ring games can be played heads up, in short-handed 6-seat tables, or in full size 10-seat tables.
Good Guys offers Sit & Gos for Hold’em, Omaha and 5 Card Draw only, with buy ins starting at €1 (about $1.30) and going up to a respectable €1000 (about $1300.) There are two types of Sit & Gos: Regular and Turbo. Blinds go up every 8 minutes in regular Sit & Gos, and every 5 minutes in the Turbo ones.
Good Guys offers tourneys in all of their poker varieties, although the vast majority of tourneys are naturally Texas Hold’em. Aside from freerolls and other special tournaments, their buy-ins range between €0.25 (about $0.35) and €200 (about $290). Tourneys at GoodGuys come in many types: rebuy, freezeout, short-handed and turbo, as well as the Wild West, which has unlimited rebuys and starts as turbo but then becomes regular.
Good Guys Poker Software Features
Good Guys has the same software and look as most Entraction sites: sleek, minimalistic graphics, no avatars, minimal customization options and lots of small text in the lobby. A very attractive feature is the Java-based web client, which allows Mac and Linux users (as well as those away from their computer) to play online.
The lobby has a filtering option, which is especially useful when trying to find a tourney, since they are all bundled together under a few tabs. There are options to find players and make player notes, and the hand history can be streamed into a file in your computer for later revision.
Good Guys Poker Support
A unique and very practical support tool offered by Good Guys Poker is the option to access customer service via MSN messenger, which was either offline or not quick enough to add new customers, because we could not get access to it in half an hour. The FAQ is extensive but not comprehensive, and it is not organized in any way – you will have to scroll to find what you’re looking for. The only other way you can access support is via email or a form on the FAQ page. Email support sends an immediate confirmation mail, followed up by a reasonably swift and accurate response.
