EuroPoker Overview
The name says it all: EuroPoker is dedicated to UK and mainland Europe, and does not accept American players (and for legal reasons also no Costa Rican or Swedish-based players). It is part of the very popular Swedish OnGame network, which makes for very good traffic during European time – there are usually between 2,800 and 3,000 real money ring game players and 11,000 and 13,500 real money tournament players during peak hours.
EuroPoker’s mission statement says “With our European players in mind and our long experience in the business behind us, EuroPoker.com has been created with one aim - to stimulate, challenge and provide the thrill of real life poker online.” One big perk is that their software is available for PC, Mac and Linux systems.
EuroPoker is a room on the OnGame network, along with other popular online poker rooms such as Hollywood Poker, Mansion Poker, and Eurobet Poker.
EuroPoker Game Features
EuroPoker offers the most popular poker games: Hold’em, Omaha, Seven Card Stud and 5 Card Draw. As with most poker rooms, Hold’em has the greatest traffic, and micro stakes start at $0.10. You can find plenty of soft games, mainly at the lower stakes – for example, the viewed flop percentage is 35% to 40% at $5/$10 no-limit Hold’em tables. Tourneys are the strongest point of Europoker, with the majority of players heading for the real money tournaments where buy-ins range between $5 and $100. Euro Poker offers a great variety of tourneys, including Sit & Gos, large multi-table tournaments, turbo tournaments and qualifier tournaments as well as a daily freeroll, a “fish tank” and the option for creating private tournaments.
EuroPoker Software Features
EuroPoker’s software has a reputation for being solid, but also unoriginal and simple. The 3D graphics are very flashy, and many software options can be toggle don an off, such as sounds, chat and views. The best point of the software is that a non-download Java version is available, which means players can access it on the go or from Mac and Linux systems. Lobby navigation is easy and straightforward, and EuroPoker’s software includes all standard features such as note taking, statistics and chat functions. One downside is that play can tend to be slow, with a waiting time between actions. A very attractive feature is a live odds calculator for all ins. Euro Poker also offers Blackjack as part of their software.
EuroPoker Support
Word on the street is that EuroPoker’s support could stand some improvement – they only offer email support (no phone or live chat), and the response speed is generally considered poor, with some emails even going unanswered.
