Eurolinx Poker Overview
Eurolinx was launched in 2005 as the first poker site in the new Tain Network. In 2006, Eurolinx left the Tain network – which did not allow American players – and joined the large Microgaming Network, so that it could remain open for American players (excepting players from the states of IL, IN, LA, MI, NV, NJ, NY, OR, SD, UT, WA and WI.)
As a part of Microgaming, Eurolinx has very good traffic, and the Eurolinx casino ensures plenty of fish in the poker room, as casino players convert into poker or just come in for at test drive.
Eurolinx is proud of its resilience in the face of changes, and is determined to give players nothing but the best. Their mission statement is: “Changes and growth have not deterred Eurolinx from maintaining the high quality of service and utmost reliability that were the purpose of its creation. Exceptional service for extraordinary players is what is promised, and it is what is delivered every day, three hundred sixty-five days a year, now and for years to come.”
They share the same player base and software platform with all the other skins on the Microgaming network, so if you have played at sites such as Poker Time or Purple Lounge, you will feel right at home.
Eurolinx Poker Game Features
Eurolinx sticks to the most tried and true poker games: Hold’em, Omaha Hi and Hi/Lo, 5- and 7-Card Stud and 5-Card Draw.
Stakes for ring games are supposed to start at $0.01/$0.03 and go all the way to a nosebleed $500/$1000, and games can be played in US Dollars or Euros. Traffic for Hold’em is concentrated at stakes under $1/$2 for full sized tables (10 players), and up to $10/$20 for short handed (6 seats). There are also heads-up tables but with almost no action. The same applies to Omaha, except for the fact that most of the traffic is at the shorthanded tables. 7-Card Stud doesn’t get much action, but 5-Card Stud and 5-Card Draw are more active: 5-Card draw only has 5-seat tables, with stakes between $0.03/$0.06 and €10/€20 (about $15/$30) and most of the action takes place at $1 stakes or less; while 5-Card Stud starts at $0.25/$0.50, has tables with 2, 6 and 8 seats and a little action at the micro stakes.
Eurolinx offers Sit & Gos for all games except for 5-Card Draw, with buy-ins between $0.10 and €1000 (about $1500.) As usual, the vast majority are Hold’em. Dingle table sizes are 2, 5, 6, 8 and 10 seats, and there are also multi-table Sit & Gos for more players. Special tourney options include Extreme Turbo (short decision time and blinds up every 2 minutes), Speed Play (7 seconds to act and 5 minute blind intervals), and the very cheap Super-Micro for only $0.10, along with the traditional options including heads up, freezeout, rebuys, guaranteed tournamentss, multi-level Sit & Gos and Qualifiers.
Scheduled tournaments in Eurolinx are available in all games except for 5-Card Stud, with over 90% of them being Hold’em. Buy-ins range between $6 and $155, and freerolls and “Linxpoints” buy-ins are also available. Eurolinx seems to be very oriented towards Satellites and qualifiers, with many options to get into big tourneys such as the Irish Open and EPT Copenhagen.
You can also create private tables and tourneys in Eurolinx.
Eurolinx Poker Software Features
Eurolinx’s software is very different from all others, with a very interesting way of finding a table: instead of a big lobby full of tables, you are offered a choice of game and then a series of filters to choose stakes, limits, table size and other preferences, after which Eurolinx will suggest the tables that are best suited to your taste. If you prefer the old-fashioned lobby you can switch with just a click, and Eurolinx has taken it a step further with many filtering options that are very easy to use and nice to look at.
Table graphics are attractive and understated, and a tab system allows you to keep track of two tables at once, but a mini-size table view option allows you to play more than just two. The software also has quick access to casino games for those who want a break from poker.
Eurolinx Poker Support
Eurolinx offers support via live chat or email. Their live chat support is fast, polite, and helpful and emails are responded within 12 hours. They currently offer support in English, Swedish, Norwegian, and Italian, but only English is available all the time. Bear in mind that if an e-mail is sent in Swedish, Norwegian, or Italian, the response time will be slightly longer than if one is sent in English.
