24h Poker (Boss Media) Overview
24hPoker is one of the largest and most popular poker rooms in Europe, and operates with both the Boss and the Entraction networks. Operated by a Maltese company and licensed in Malta, 24hPoker is focused on Scandinavian players and is very busy in the evenings (European time,) meaning quality players and high stakes tables. However, 24hPoker also offers plenty of casino games, which keep the fish coming in.
24hPoker does not accept US players, but that does not affect their traffic in the least – recent player statistics showed 1,200 ring-game players and 5,000 tournament players at peak hours. The site’s currency is Euros, so all stakes and buy-ins are in Euros.
In the spirit of welcoming players from all over Europe, 24hPoker is available in German, Icelandic, Polish, Finnish, Danish, Swedish, English, Russian, Italian, Norwegian and Turkish.
24h Poker (Boss Media) Game Features
There is a good variety of games offered at 24hPoker: besides the mandatory Texas Hold'em, Omaha Hi and Hi/Lo, Seven-Card Stud Hi and Hi/Lo and Five-Card Draw; 24hPoker also has Soko (Canadian Stud), Telesina, Americana, Caribbean Stud and Triple-Draw Lowball. The games vary between No-Limit, Pot-Limit, and Fixed-Limit, with options for playing full-table games, short-handed, and heads-up. As is usual in most sites, there is high traffic on Hold’em, but 24hPoker stands out from the crowd because of their high-stakes Omaha High games and the high traffic at the five-card draw poker tables.
Ring games come in all sizes, with buy ins from €0.02/€0.04 to €750/€1500 and table sizes going from heads-up to short-handed (6 seats), normal (9 seats) and large (10 seats.)
Tournaments are neatly classified: there are scheduled as well as Sit & Gos, Freerolls and Satellites. Tournaments are available in most poker varieties – not just Hold’em and Omaha but also Five-Card Draw, Soko, Americana and other less traditional poker games. Buy ins for Sit & Gos range between €1 and €1000, while scheduled tournaments are a bit lower, going between €0.25 and €250.
Besides an ample array of poker options, 24hPoker also has casino games, including slots, roulette, craps and video poker.
24h Poker (Boss Media) Software Features
There are two software options for 24hPoker: the downloadable version and an online Java version that is perfect for Mac and Linux users. The graphics are sleek and appealing, if rather minimalistic. The software runs smoothly in both versions, and although it does not have as many options as other sites offer it has everything necessary for a satisfactory poker experience: statistics, 4-color decks, and several toggle options for animations, sounds and cards.
24hPoker’s software allows for multitable play without a problem, but it has been reported to crash or slow down if you run other poker software at the same time.
24h Poker (Boss Media) Support
24hPoker has a very complete FAQ section, but for additional enquiries they offer support in English, Russian, Swedish and Finnish, both via email and over the phone.
